PETERS is a Jamaican-born and raised filmmaker, creative producer, and media strategist based in Chicago.

He works across documentary film, sound, and public programming, but most of his work begins with the same instinct: paying attention.

He notices how people speak when they are not trying to appear impressive. The pauses in conversation. The stories that surface while waiting for a ride, standing on a corner, or sitting around a kitchen table. He keeps returning to the ways life, particularly Black American and Caribbean life, gets worked out in waiting rooms, on sidewalks, and in the gaps between official systems. His work is a constant noticing and appreciation for the mundane.

Growing up in Jamaica shapes the way he listens. Tone, timing, and what is left unsaid often carry as much meaning as words themselves. Rather than looking for tidy explanations or neat endings, he is more interested in how memory shifts depending on who is telling it, who is listening, and what gets carried forward and/or omitted.

PETERS holds an MFA in Documentary Media.

He hopes the work gives people a different way of seeing what was already there.
